On Jumping Stilts For the 1st Time
From A Satisfied Customer
Gary,
I wanted to let you know I got the jumping stilts that I ordered. Wow is all I can say! It’s been rainy the past couple days and so I’ve been forced to just sit and look at them as they hang out in the corner of my office. I’ve passed waiting for the sun to come out by reading and re-reading the manual that comes with them and going thru all of the how to videos you have on youtube.
Then today the sun finally broke. Even though I had tons to get done today I decided that it all could wait. As I was strapping them on for the first time I was both nervous and excited. I consider myself pretty athletic and have a pretty good sense of balance but I wasn’t looking forward to falling from that high up.
After getting strapped in I hopped up and started taking some tentative steps around. So far so good..After a few minutes of just walking around trying to get a feel for them I started hopping a little. Nothing big but just a couple to see how they reacted.
The biggest thing I found is it takes a minute to learn what angle you want to come down at. Too far forward or backwards and it throws you off balance. But when you find that sweet spot and the springs work their magic lifting you effortlessly into the air you know you’re hooked.
Within 15-20 minutes I felt really comfortable and was able to bound fairly high and run without serious concern of falling. I will be completely honest and tell you I did fall once when I was trying to jump really high. Thankfully I had invested in some wrist guards and they made the fall painless. Getting back up is a trick though. It took me a second but I was up jumping around again in a few minutes.
All in all I would suggest getting a pair of Air-Trekker Jumping stilts to anyone. Not only are they a great work out (found out just how out of shape I am) but they’re just plain fun. The only thing you have to be concerned with is all of the weird looks you get from people who are jealous of your new toys!
