Jumping Stilts Knee Bar Mod

June 8th, 2009

Do you own a pair of jumping stilts that has the foam knee bar? The foam knee bar is one of the original designs by Mr. Boeck, the inventor. It’s the part that wraps around the leg near the knee. Mr. Boeck has stated that it’s main purpose is for safety.

If you fall, this stable, padded knee bar will protect your knees from serious injury. You simply slide your foot through the knee bar and fasten a little strap behind your knee and you’re ready to go - right? Not quite so fast. Although Mr. Boeck claims that the knee bar doesn’t need to be tight, after thousands of hours of use, we have a different opinion.

Our stunt team, along with hundreds of buyers learned that the knee bar is indeed stable and seems to add an element of safety, but we have also learned that to really jump high and land with confidence consistently, you need to have your leg fit tight inside the knee bar. Many users simply use their jumping stilts with no added items. Great.

But if you want added security and confidence. Pad up and strap in!! You can add many items to your leg or around the knee bar area to get a tighter fit. Knee pads, shin guards, foam padding, even pool noodles.

We have found pipe insulation to be a great inexpensive item to add that greatly reduces the wobbliness. See video below.

Padding

If you have padded up your knee bar and are starting to make giant leaps on your jumping stilts, and you still could use some more security - strap up. There will be a time very soon that you really want to go big or run fast. For maximum confidence while performing big air tricks, you need to have your jumping stilts feel like extensions of your leg.

The padding helps a lot but another item that is used for that extra security is straps. Buy 2 - 6′ long, 3/4 wide climbing strapping from any sporting goods store. It’s cheap. Wrap the strapping around your leg and the knee bar.

Now you are 100% secure and your confidence level will skyrocket in just short leaps. See video below. The strapping instructions start 1:45 minutes into the video.

Strapping: @1:45 in.

Jumping Stilts At Obama’s Ball

May 19th, 2009

One of My Customers let me know that he performed in Obama’s neighborhood ball a couple months back using a pair of Jumping Stilts he purchased from me.  I was really impressed because he told me he used to use the really expensive (like $1900) powerskips but he likes the Air-Trekkers with the calf cuff better.

Anyways, here’s a video of the performance.  Enjoy!

Calf Cuff For Jumping Stilts

May 15th, 2009

Have you heard of the CALF CUFF?

It’s a new cutting edge part that fits most jumping stilt models….and it’s now available in the USA as a add-on part for your existing model. And if you are in the market to buy jumping stilts, the CALF CUFF is now included on few models available in the USA. This part replaces the foam knee bar and changes everything regarding the comfort and fit of jumping stilts.

Take note, the foam knee bar will soon be obsolete.

The manufacturer of Air-Trekker Jumping stilts has heard the concerns around the world of the loose fitting, wobbliness of Mr. Boeck’s knee bar design. (Mr. Boeck initially designed his units, and still manufacturers his Powerskips with the foam knee bar.)

USA Air-Trekker users and European jumping stilt users alike sent many emails stating that they just could not achieve ideal comfort because the knee bar never fit tight enough. Many have added foam padding around the foam knee bar, used knee pads, some even wrappred straps around their legs and the bar to try to get a tighter fit. All these methods work……but now the worry and hassles of a loose fit is gone!

The jumping stilt industry listened and now has answered.

Introducing the CALF CUFF! What used to be reserved for the highest end models……the $500.00 plus models……..is now available as an add-on for YOUR units.

The manufacturer of Air-Trekker jumping stilts has designed a high end CALF CUFF part to easily fit into YOUR existing jumping stilts. Installation is simple, the fit is extraordinary, and now the cost is very affordable.

“The CALF CUFFS rule.” says Mr. Loesser, a jumping stilt performer, who performed at our president’s inauguration party. “There’s no comparison. I’ve used expensive Powerskips with the knee bar for years, and when I bought a pair of Air-Trekker EXTREMES with the new CALF CUFFS, I insisted my team buy these new units. To go big, and have the confidence to perform any trick, any time, I want my stilts to fit like a glove around my leg, a tight glove. The CALF CUFFS provide this fit.”

CALF CUFFS are made of 3″ wide, heavily padded nylon straps that over lap and are secured with a big velcro strap. The velcro fastener allows any shape, or thickness, a secure, tight fit.

This padded strapping part is attached to the same type of aluminum tubes that your current knee bar is made of. Therefore you can simply slide the knee bar out and the CALF CUFF in.

If you bought a pair of Air-Trekker, Flying Jumper, or Powerstrider jumping stilts - adult model with knee bar - after 12-1-07 - and you simply are tired of the trying to get the fit tight and secure enough, check out the CALF CUFF.

Testimonials from buyers of units that have the CALF CUFF part already installed are pouring in and they are all positive. The CUFFS make putting on jumping stilts a snap, and the fit is perfect everytime. Secure and tight. Some have even stated that the CALF CUFFS reduce the learning curve 90%. Others say the CUFFS just make jumping much more fun!!

How To Make Money With Jumping Stilts

May 15th, 2009

As stated in my previous blog post I wanted to go over several ways someone could use their jumping stilts to make some extra cash.  Some are certainly easier and more realistic than others but there’s no doubt if you put your mind to it you could use your stilts for profit!

  • City Messenger - We recently had someone tell us he borrowed his friends jumping stilts because his bike was broken and they were perfect for running around town delivering his mail.
  • Sign Holder - One of those people who hold signs on the street corner for restaurants or furniture stores?  Ok, not the most glamorous job but you could probably ask for more money because you’re going to be twice as visible on your jumping stilts!
  • Get a clown costume and do little kids birthday parties - We have a customer who dresses up like the Easter bunny and does this so it CAN be done!
  • Jumping Stilts Car wash - You may need to enlist the help of some friends or your little brother to get the low spots but when people see you jumping around on your stilts with a car wash sign they’ll have to stop.
  • And lastly is the Air-trekkers Affiliate Program.  What’s more fun that spreading the word about Air-Trekker Jumping Stilts and making money doing it.

So there you have it!  Go forth and make your first million on jumping stilts!
